A Short History of God :.

Horned Gods

... have been worshipped in Europe and the rest of the world from the dawn of humanity. They have always been part of a Pagan belief system, a polytheistic [or duotheistic] belief system, which accepts many Gods. Tribal Pagan belief systems still in existence share this characteristic: the tribes worship their tribal Gods, and other Gods mentioned by strangers are not evil, or non-existent, they are simply not their Gods, which demonstrates one Pagan belief of which I have great pride.....that of open-mindedness; the ability to co-exist.

There were several ancient monotheistic religions such as Judaism, but again these were tribal religions, which had no urge to prosyletise, to "spread the word." Jehova was the God of the Jews, and they felt no need to persuade other tribes to worship him as well.

Christianity changed all that. It felt an overpowering need to make their one God the God of everyone within reach, and so the missionary was born. But to do this it was necessary to discredit the old Pagan Gods; in particular the Mother Goddess and the Horned God.

Pagan pantheons never include Gods of evil. Pagan Gods are aspects of Nature, and in Nature there can be no evil; it exists only in the human imagination. They frequently include trickster Gods, such as Loki or Hermes, and Gods can have a reputation for being an unwise involvement, but never evil for evil's sake. Monotheistic religions, on the other hand, require a God of Evil as an adversary of their God of Good; demonstrating the need to make their God seem more powerful than he really was. After all, he was a God who could vanquish Evil, yet chose not to. Which makes him appear a very uncaring and/or frivolous God. But, without the counterpart of Evil, why would you need Him? So the personification of Evil remains. An obvious way to discredit the Horned God and justify punishment of His worshippers was to say that He is, in fact, not only the God of Evil in the new religion, but that He has been all along.

Of course, this did not happen all at once. For centuries, Christianity existed alongside much older Pagan beliefs all across the World. It adapted to the people and accomodated their beliefs as far as possible. Constantine devised a way of maintaining the Old Pagan Traditions within the newly developed Catholicism, incorporating Pagan elements of Worship such as the use of the chalice, incense, colored robes, and Latin. Candles, and "christenings," baptisms [much later], and even the title, "Priest," are all Pagan elements. As a newer example, the Celtic Christian Church in dark age Ireland is a typical example of the Church taking the feast days, Esbats and Sabbats of the Pagan and making them Christian holidays, to accomodate the Pagans, and bring their masses into the Christian fold.

No One Suspected...

Then in AD 1248 Pope Innocent IV decided that it was time to suppress all heresy. It was time to stop catering to the "peasants," and lean more towards the land barons, for it was they who, after all, gave the Church its power, and paid regular tithes to support the priests and archdiocese in the manner to which it had become accustomed after stealing the massive wealth which once belonged to better men. For this reason and this reason alone, he founded The Holy Office, or as it later became better known, The Inquisition. BUT, they needed some way to validate what they were about to do. They needed some form of justification for the deaths they planned. It was in 1484 that Pope Innocent VIII produced his bull against Witches, and it was two years later, in 1486, that two Dominican Monks, Sprenger and Kramer, were commissioned to produce an incredible concoction of anti-Witchery, which would later be known as the Malleus Maleficarum or... the Witches' Hammer.

They took this fallacy to the Theological Faculty of the University in Cologne for scholarly endorsement but instead they were immediately recognized as frauds. The board at Cologne refused to endorse such rubbish and promptly had them removed. It has long been exposed that these monks not only devised the most horrible and damning lies concerning Witches and what we do, but they then forged the approbation of the whole faculty[!] of Cologne's theological scholars in order to put this treatise into effect!

For 150 years, the common people were taken from their homes by men dressed in black hoods, and burned, pressed, drowned, drawn and quartered, and suffered many other heinous acts for mere SUSPICION of Witchcraft. But this new Witchcraft was not, in any aspect, the Witchcraft employed by these people. This new Witchcraft Lore was a direct result of the infamous lies dreamt up by those two notorious monks, and now incorporated elements of murder, dark intent, pacts with Satan, and heinous sexual activities to which these people did not prescribe. It wasn't until the fifteenth century that the Holy Inquisition really took off (especially in Spain), and began rooting out all and any lingering traces of the Pagan beliefs; all the while, putting to dire use the Malleus Maleficarum. It was not until 1898 that this "work" was discovered to be nothing more than a disgusting pack of lies!

In the meantime, the rough estimate of those killed in Europe for being in league with Satan is nine million. This was the first holocaust. Obviously, not all these victims were followers of the Old Ways, nor were ANY of these souls in league with a Devil in which they did not believe.

Being an organization run entirely by men, and in league with the medical profession, the Church took an instant dislike to the yarb women (who were generally herbalistic healers and midwives) living around every country village, passing on ancient Pagan folk-lore to the new generation and selling folk medicine and Magickal charms. Once petitioned by those of the medical profession, the priests declared that these women were worshippers of the Devil, and must be burned.

I find it necessary to state a little-known fact, here....In New England of the US, during these times, the law was the same as in England: Witches were hung, not burned. It was in Scotland and Continental Europe that they were burned at the stake, NOT THE US! No Witch has ever been burned at the stake in the US!

During the process of extracting imaginative confessions from their bewildered captives a brand new folk myth was gradually born, as the inquisitors continually outdid one another in imagining new horrors of depravity in the worship of Lucifer [once known as the Lightbearer and the Bright and Morning Star], and under extreme and heinous torture their prisoners rarely confessed, thus proving in the eyes of the Church the powerful "hold" the Horned God had over His followers. But the Horned God had taken on a new face through Christianity who, to protect its own existence, created this false reflection, and labelled it Satanism.

In order to improve the consistency of the meager confessions, and thereby create the evidence for this imaginary foul creed, a special manual was required, detailing the exact acts of which the "Witches" stood accused, and would therefore be forced to confess to. It also described in excruciating detail exactly how to extract such confessions. This "Witch Hunting: How To Do It" guide was published in 1486, written by two monks, Heinrich Kramer and James Sprenger. As I have said before, it was called The Malleus Maleficarum, or "Witches' Hammer".

This pack of lies is the true origin of Satanism! Every lie they stated as fact in this writ is the basis for contemporary Satanic sects.

Before this heresy, there had been only the Luciferians (a real Christian heresy), who practiced Christianity in most important respects but with one exception: having read the fine print in the early Coptic texts from which the common Christian Bible is derived, they had noticed that the actual creation, population and environmental development of this world was credited to Lucifer, who is believed to be a Deity as well, and possibly Jehova's mate. (This would explain Jehova's wrath over Lucifer's attempt to run the business of Heaven.) So they offered up their prayers to Lucifer as "the real Mistress of this world." They did not sacrifice babies, call up demons or do anything else distasteful. They just saw a different name on the title deeds of this planet and realm, and a different gender to Lucifer. So Lucifer, in this aspect, was the first incarnation of the Virgin Mary; the Sacred Feminine.

Satanism never existed before The Malleus Maleficarum, but now anyone with an urge to kick against the heels of the ultimate father figure had the definitive guide to work from. Satanism was created by two devout [and mad] Christian monks!

The Satanism of today is not the hokey genre of Hammer Horror movies and heavy metal stage acts, but people who are completely and blindly devoted to a Christian invention whose enactors perform deeds first imagined by the insane monks and inquisitors of The Holy Office of the Vatican.

Demons

It is apparent that horny [or...um...Horned] forest Spirits were a part of countryside folklore as late as the 18th century, and only a hundred years after the heyday of The Inquisition, Shakespeare was writing about them in his plays. These Pan-like creatures, known as Pucks [among them was Robin Goodfellow, aka Peter Pan, aka Robin Hood], had the appearance of the Faun and the habit of copulating with human women. In an early confession these harmless creatures must have been mentioned and the inquisitors seized upon it, and then used it again, and again. Until this time, the villagers worshiping in church on Sunday and practicing simple folk Magick the rest of the week had thought nothing of it, but Robin Goodfellow was given a new name: The Devil, and became irredeemably evil.

Before this the "Devil" had no clear shape [because he was not yet fully invented], but right after the fifteenth century he had cloven hooves, goat legs, a tail, horns, and a sex-drive. Wings were added because he was supposed to be a fallen angel. None of this is to be found anywhere in the scriptures. Read them for yourself. I did.

Christians frequently accuse Pagans of being Devil worshippers, and we find this MORE than ignorant. The devil is a Christian God, a part of the Christian pantheon along with The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost, The Virgin Mary, the angels and the saints, the fallen angels and the demons. Satanism is a Christian heresy. Pagans are not the heretics of the Christian Church! In fact, considering Christianity as a whole is far newer than Paganism; considering our Priests and Priestesses, Wise Men and Women all tolerated the Christians standing side-by-side with them to teach the masses; it was they who comitted the act of heresy...against US.
