For many of us, Guardian Spirits are a daily reality. This is for those who have not had the distinction of that relationship.

As with Familiars, Guardian Spirits are attendant spirits. Some come briefly when needed only to return to the ethereal home immediately thereafter, while others linger; stay with us until we, too are part of the incorporeal ether.

When there is need of immediate and violent protection, Guardian Spirits have been seen by thousands of would be victims, coming to their aid. Indeed, many claim that their lives were saved by these Guardian Spirits.

They come in all shapes and sizes. Some have reported seeing their "Guardian Angel," while others merely felt the warm and loving presence of the Guardian Spirit. Others still have seen the forms of human-looking men and women alike. Some attribute this to "ghosts." Let's look at that for a moment.

What are ghosts? They are detached spirits of the departed. They are also the accumulated energies within a structure or other object, which if unchecked, can develop its own consciousness, over time. If this spirit has acted on the behalf of the living, then this is not a "haunting," but rather a Guardian Spirit who has come to dwell within a place or an area becoming the Guardian Spirit of that locale instead of a personal Guardian Spirit.

Personal Guardian Spirits can be acquired by several means such as the death of a loved one; the spirit finds your aura attractive; you have done something which gains the attention of the spirit [let's just hope it's something GOOD which you have done!]; a traumatic experience which took a part of your psyche into the Guf, whether it be a fall from a ladder or a near death experience; or a calling (or summoning) of the spirit.

Personally, I do not summon spirits. I figure there are so many mixed energies about that my summoning whatever is out there would not necessarily be a good thing...Ouija boards do that, and my experiences with those are far less than pleasant. The "channels" of an Ouija board are so broad and general that they let a LOT of horrid energies through. There is no control with an Ouija board, and what you speak with could very well linger and remain behind well after you are done with it. Just remember that the type of spirits I'm talking about here have their own agendas and reasoning. These are not benevolent spirits for the most part and will tell you anything you want to hear one minute, and then anything which will shock or terrify you the next. They feed from negative emotions and energies and are far better being left alone.

Guardian Spirits generally attach themselves firmly to a person or a place and protect that person or place exclusively.

Gargoyles were once used for this purpose. You can find them on many ancient cathedrals and churches throughout Europe and the US. Before the church as a whole decided that such Beings were demonic, they conjured them themselves as attendant and protective spirits. They were once a large part of what "sanctified" a place or structure as "holy." But, as with the Dragon and the Horned God, the Church decided they were a bit too powerful, and therefore demoted Gargoyles into the bowels of the Christian heresy known as "Satanism."

I'd like to point out here that the only true Satanists are the Lucifarians (or Luciferians). They were the true heretics of the Christian religion. The followers of LaVey and now his widow are classified as Neo-Satanists. At any rate, attendant and/or guardian spirits do exist. They come in literally any shape, size and form. They aren't there to mindlessly do our bidding. They are there to protect us and guide us as we walk along Life's paths.

Guardian Spirits are on the other Planes of Reality. They strive [sometimes very hard] to get "through" to our consciousness. The subconscious hears all, but the conscious mind is many times too occupied with the mundane issues of daily life to "hear" the call of the Guardian Spirit. In rare instances, these Guardians who need to be heard may manifest in the physical. They are still incorporeal, but have - for the moment - assumed a physical form.
