Before
one should attempt to work with the Spirits of Nature, one should first form a bond with them. Go out
into Nature, and observe Her many facets.
Spirits of Nature have a will of their own, so these forces may NOT be bent to your will.
To do so is against all Laws of Magick. Instead, you must illicit their assistance and be
prepared to accept the outcome, as many Nature Spirits come in the form of the Trickster.
They come in many forms including [but not limited to] Elementals and the millions of races of
Fae[rie]. One of the DFW, Inc. CoE members suggests, "Witch's Guide to Fairy Folk," by
Edian McCoy [This is not an endorsement of McCoy, but of a particular section in this single
work.] in which McCoy lists the races of Fae[rie], the culture from which they hale, their magickal
abilities/uses, and recommended ways to contact, as well as when to NOT contact them.
Elemental and Nature Magicks may be combined quite effectively, as well as Faerie Magick,
Kitchen Witchery, Druidry, and Green Magick; as Nature Magick is an integral part of each
of these systems/techniques.
In order to form the necessary bond, one should go into a quiet wood [or vacant lot], sit
in a comfortable spot, and watch the change which takes place over several hours of
observation. You may be amazed at what you discover and see. The trees themselves
have been known to whisper to an observant one.
There are millions of spells and techniques out there for working with Nature Spirits, so I
won't duplicate those here. There are many books on the subject of Nature Spirits. The ad
below reflects but a few.
