Elswet™'s Spiritual Requirements
I have only three spiritual requirements; things I expect from couples who plan to come to me for a handfasting, be it legal, or not.

  • If you are a member of a coven, I would like to know why your own High Priest/ess is not performing the rite.

    • If your reason is because you wish to marry in the Smokies, you may consider paying the extra motel and meal bills and inviting your own coven Leader to officiate.
  • If you and your intended are not coven members, I will need to be in communication with both you and your intended spouse via telephone or in person well in advance of your handfasting.
    • If phone calls are used, I will absorb the price of the calls.


    • Please try to understand that as an ordained minister and certified High Priestess, I am responsible for providing you with at least the minimal spiritual counselling concerning the upcoming rite and its implications, whether it is to be a legal ceremony, a spiritual ceremony, or both.

  • Ritual preparation is not optional. Ritual bathing and centering is mandatory before driving to the location you have chosen as your handfasting site. Please allow yourself plenty of time to ensure these tasks will be completed.
