I will attempt here to explain and discuss both the positive and negative aspects of Positive Energies. So please be tolerant of views which could be contrary to your own.
When one thinks of positive energies, they usually associate them with those who say things like "Walk in the Light," and "Merry Meet." Yet, outside the Pagan Community, there seems to be a lot of negativity directed at what is commonly termed as "white lighters." Positive energies bring enlightenment, healing, and sealing of our spells and rites. Positive energies nurture, teach, and caress both us and our lives. If you ask one who has been healed Magickally, they will corroborate that the healing energies they feel moving through them from the Healer are positive; usually warm, and white if of the Goddess while being gold if of the God. We are often accused on the DFW™ Pagan message boards of being nothing more than a bunch of back-patters. The truth is, that's exactly what we are. You will always find us attempting to assist one another in maintaining that positive frame of mind. Negativity is the murderer of Magickal Energies. Even when working with dark intent, the practitioner must remain positive in their heart as to what is happening and what will happen. But in remaining forever positive, what do we learn? Do you know someone who is so nice they have you inwardly cringing? Almost everyone knows someone like that, and while they are perky, fun people, most find themselves backing away while reaching for the door. To a person who is not constantly positive, someone who is perpetual sunshine and light can be extremely annoying. However, keeping the light on a problem brings necessary attention to that problem but I must wonder how that brings into being a solution? Does it help to shine that flashlight into the closet? Sure sometimes you find out that it was just a shadow which had you so spooked, but sometimes it’s a being of shadow which no one knows how to get rid of. Does knowing about the shadow creature make you impervious? Of course not; all it does is give confirmation to our fears. I had a friend who was dying of cancer. No one told her that she was dying; in fact, they were lying to her concerning her condition. She believed she was getting well. Another friend could not bear this deception and she told her the truth. Everyone hated her for doing this, including the friend with cancer. She told her she'd obliterated what were to be her last happy days with her family. She hadn't wanted to know. No one knew she told her husband and family NOT to tell her, if such was the case. Least of all, her friends. None of us knew. But the one who took it upon herself to shine the light of truth into her friend's closet, found out the hard way that there is such a thing as too much truth, too much light. The most obvious way to show the effect of too much light in people’s lives is to look at certain scientific truths. First, looking directly at the sun will blind you and leave you in a world of darkness forever. Simply looking at a bright artificial light can blind you temporarily. So, what happens if you are blinded by the light? You end up stumbling around in the dark. Of course, avoiding this situation was the point in having all the light to begin with. But, suddenly you find yourself caught in a world of darkness because you depended too much on the light and didn’t think that some things should still be left in the shadows. Lasers utilize light, do they not? They can be used to heal, true, but they can also be used to destroy. On a spiritual level, one has but to look at today's societal issues. They say that crime is up. Is that true? Not really. If there were 2.5 million people in 1950, there are 5 million people now. (Just using a #, mind you.) So the number of criminals also increases. The percentages remain about the same. And there is also the small percentage of newly-discovered criminals; those who have been committing crimes for years, but are only just exposed for having done so. That runs the percentages into a false low for prior years, with false increases for current ones. Yet another example of having too much light on a thing. If a person willingly commits murder, that person can be executed or sentenced to life in prison. After serving seven years, that person is elligible for a parole hearing, unless otherwise noted. If a person is arrested and convicted of smoking marijuana (a victimless crime) within two miles of a school, that heinous crime carries a mandatory five years. (Yay Mrs. Reagan! NOT!) What is WRONG with this situation? Too much light put on the "drug wars;" an invasive form of militia warfare with covert sub-plots and adulterated morals. That's what's wrong with it. There are a few examples of light being used wrongly. But as I've pointed out before, what is right and what is wrong, is in the Eye of the Beholder. CONTINUE. | |||||
