I am told this is one of thousands of Shamanic devices used to better know, and communicate with either [or both] your Power Animal, or Familiar. I have successfully used this method to communicate with Blue-Boy, my beloved [now deceased] kitty. He was sentient in ways I never thought possible until I met him.

This is not to be done lightly, or by those with no experience in astral travel and/or projection.

Take up your animal, or envision your power animal. Project yourself to a place where you can see him/her and they can see you, perfectly. Hold your animal lovingly, stroking it, loving it. Begin to sing softly. You may use musick, drumming, or just the tune in your head to do this. I personally do this with a familiar CD in the machine, turned to a less than ear splitting volume, but loudly enough as to physically block out all other auditory interferences.

Project to your animal all your love, your respect for who and what it is, your appreciation for its assistance, guidance, and companionship. Hold it close and send directly into it your heart's true feeling for your animal, while astrally dancing. Literally sway with the music. Literally "Dance" your animal.

When you hear your animal answer your love, you are finished. Slowly withdraw yourself from your animal, but leave enough of a contact that you can feel your animal's emotions and you are certain that it can feel yours.

Repeat this anytime you can no longer hear and feel your animal. You may repeat this as often as necessary, or just because you WANT to. It is a major bonding exercise for you and your animal.
